A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls is an evidence-based program designed to help older adults address their fears or concerns about falling and increase their activity level. The lessons are based on cognitive restructuring, gaining knowledge, and learning skills and exercises to decrease the risk of falling and improve confidence and ability in staying physically active as you age. This course is provided by AmeriCorps Seniors' Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

What is amateur radio? This class will present and overview of ham radio beginning in the early days of radio. We will explain the basics of radio and ham radio operating activities including moon bounce, satellites, and contacting far away stations.

- Bluegrass Music: Origins, Themes, Heart and Soul In Person

Maximum Enrollment: 20
In this course about Bluegrass Music we will explore the influences and origin of the music, instruments typically used, and themes prominent in the real-life, downhome lyrics. We will look at the first and second generations of musicians and performers. We will discuss how Morehead State University’s Kentucky Center for Traditional Music came into being, and the impact it and other colleges with programs dedicated to Bluegrass/Traditional Music have made on the students who wish to learn and perform the music professionally. We will talk about the many venues to go hear and enjoy the music we call Bluegrass.

- Pilgrimages of the World In Person

Maximum Enrollment: 18
This course will focus on the purpose of a pilgrimage and various common destinations. Individuals embark on pilgrimages from all walks of life from many different cultures. Pilgrimages are travel with a specific purpose to a specific destination, often for spiritual or personal reasons. Examples of pilgrimages from around the world will be examined and illustrated. After the formal session an optional visit with a short walk (pilgrimage) will be available for participants at a local private park.

- TED Talks SIG

This SIG will revolve around the class watching a series of TED Talks with ensuing discussion. Each session will typically include a medium-length video (15-20 minutes in length) and at least one shorter video (< 10 minutes). After each video will be a period of (hopefully!) meaningful and enthusiastic discussion which will linger in the minds of the participants for hours, days, or even millennia!
