OLLI at UK Visits Keeneland
Tuesday, March 24, 2026
9:00am - Breakfast - Keeneland Track Kitchen
10:30am - Keeneland Library, 4201 Versailles Road
We are pleased to offer OLLI members a second opportunity to visit the Keeneland Library. The Keeneland library was established in 1939 and is the foremost research/reference library preserving the history of horseracing.
We are happy to introduce the library’s newest exhibit and education initiative to our OLLI members. The exhibit “Raíces: The Making of Latino Legacies in Racing”, showcases groundbreaking Latino figures in the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry from the late 1800s to today. The exhibit features biographical vignettes, photographs, memorabilia, awards, and trophies of Latinos in the sport from across the Americas to highlight the breadth and depth of their indelible marks on the industry. Raíces – or roots – are emblematic of their respective stories, individual and collective heritage, and legacies sowed and sustained at every level of the sport over time.
We will start off the day at 9:00am with an on your own breakfast at the Keeneland Track Kitchen. We have reserved the Meeting Room at the Track Kitchen for our group. The Track Kitchen is known for its great hearty breakfasts and where many horse trainers and jockeys start their day.
At 10:30am we will each drive to the Keeneland Library and meet Director, Ms. Roda Ferraro, for an interactive tour of this special exhibit.
Space is limited, so don’t wait to register. Parking details to follow once registered.
Capacity 30. Registration Deadline: Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
